In Paris, the 2020 International Sound Week holds its annual award. “When the sound creates an image” was its theme, and Alexis Duclos its Grand Prix winner with his video clip Paris Printemps 2020. Here it is!
The 2020 edition was sponsored by the singer Natalie Dessai and the trumpet player Ibrahim Maalouf. The competition was aimed at “students from schools and universities of architecture, urban planning, landscape, design, art, acousticians, designers, musicians, composers, engineers, video artists, violin makers” and so on. It consisted in the production of a film to illustrate a music by Philippe Rombi. The Prize was awarded on 22 January in the headquarters of the UNESCO .
“Philippe Rombi has composed a music whose melody is disturbing, mysterious, worrying!”, said Alexis Duclos. “For me, it was obvious to make a montage with the images that I had the opportunity to shoot during last year’s spring confinement.”
