For the first time in Paris, the American actress and photographer, Alexandra Hedison is presenting a retrospective of her work of the last twenty years, entitled 10 Days, 20 years: Work Prints from 1997-2017. These prints allow us to discover the world of this very private artist, whose eye knows how to discern the unexpected intrusion in the abstract. She uses her photographs as visual metaphors for impermanence and change, and in her abstract landscapes explores the interstices between tradition and novelty and exposes the transitions between the two. Each of her works is a meeting, both architectural and natural, between the individual and the immensity of the landscape. It’s in this suspended state that the unusual and unexpected arise and a kind of abstraction comes to the surface.
