The city of Vannes is launching a new photo event named Ailleurs (Elsewhere), whose exhibitions are taking place in spaces as prestigious as the Hôtel de Limur, the central passage of La Cohue (museum of fine arts), Le Kiosque (exhibition space), Les Bigotes gallery, and the walls of the city of Vannes. “On the Open Road” is the theme of this first edition, open to travels, road trips, and journeys from the 1960s to today.
“I always thought that the journey, the route, the road trip was, in a voyage, just as important as the destination. It is often a time of encounters, discoveries of landscapes, places, spaces… Leaving us with memories as unforgettable as they were unexpected. The road trip is often also a synonym for an inner journey, even introspection,” explains Dominique Leroux, artistic director of the festival.
On the program: Raymond Depardon, Bernard Plossu, Paul Fusco, René Tanguy, and also young French talents such as Alexa Brunet and Simon Tanguy. The artistic direction of the event was given to Dominique Leroux, Breton photographer. The singer Miossec, a figure inextricably linked with Brittany a photo and travel enthusiast, is the sponsor of this first edition. Ailleurs, a 100% free event, aims to appeal to professionals as well as photography lovers.
