All his life, Jean Dieuzaide (1921-2003), showed an insatiable curiosity and daring through the very wide variety of themes he tackled, in a militant vision of photography.
From graphic compositions to still lifes made in the studio, from architecture to portraits, from landscapes to aerial views, J. Dieuzaide tried everything, while, in his studio in Toulouse, he had invented a specific laboratory. for making prints on large format paper.
It is an eclectic selection of these that the Departmental Conservation of Heritage and Museums wished to present in the Abbey of Flaran (in collaboration with his son Michel), in order to join the many events intended to mark the anniversary year of his birth.
Rarely shown, his large formats are an opportunity to review the work of a man who had a special attachment to the Gers and asserted himself as one of the most original French photographers of the second half of the 20th century.
Exhibition designed and coordinated by the Departmental Conservation of Heritage and Museums / Flaran.
