In Washington, an extraordinary donation was given to two museums.
The J. Paul Getty Museum and the National Gallery of Art received a 386 works donation from Daniel Greenberg and Susan Steinhauser’s own collection. By the end of the 1960s, the couple begun to collect ceramics and glassware before becoming interested in photography.
Daniel Greenberg and Susan Steinhauser gathered works from the great masters of modern American photography. Their collection also includes works from South American photographers, such as Manuel Alvarez Bravo or Pablo Ortiz Monasterio.
Among other works, the two museums received works by Berenice Abbott, Dorothea Lange, William Eggleston or Chris Killip.
The American public hopes to discover some of these works quite soon !
