Portrait (s) presents ten exhibitions, simultaneously held in the city center and outdoors, in the open air: in the gallery space of the Vichy Cultural Center, built at the beginning of the last century, at the Valery-Larbaud Mediatheque , on the esplanade of Lake Allier and Place Saint-Louis.
Turkina Faso is a young Russian photographer who now lives in London, where she leads a career in fashion and documentary. She has been working for about ten years on her sister Alice, who has been studying in Moscow. Delivering images that mix snapshot and staging, document and fiction, Turkina Faso operates a crossing of the mirror. The grace and fantasies of Alice echo the wild and untamed nature of the landscapes of the North Caucasus. Through the spells of her sister who passes slowly from childhood to adolescence, Turkina Faso finds the poetry and enchantment of her own memories of youth, of her own chimeras of yesteryear.
Turkina Faso is represented by Modds, Paris.
