While the Maison Européenne de la Photographie exposes the missing Ren Hang, in) (between exposes Zhipeng Lin aka 223
223 imposed his photographic signature well before Ren Hang devoted himself to this art. He began photography in the early 2000s with street photography. Some of these memorable works are snapshots taken from an old airport. It was there that, perhaps by chance, a friend asked him to photograph it. Shortly after that, 223 captures what will later define his signature, his artistic photograph. He has been using film as a support since 2004 and his friends and his everyday life are his source of inspiration.
In an interview with SLEEK magazine in Art and Photography in August 2018, 223 explained that comparing him with Ren Hang was a mistake. This exhibition highlights his work and offers him a new opportunity to continue to show his work in Paris, as was the case in 2018, during his eccentric exhibition directed by Anna Mistal at the Grand Amour hotel: No.223@GrandAmour.
