Walid Raad, an artist for over 25 years, has explored a range of issues from the facticity of photographic and video documents to the histories of art within the Arab world.
Walid Raad is an artist and Associate Professor of Art at The Cooper Union in New York City. His works include mixed media installations, performance, video and photography, and literary essays, as well as The Atlas Group – a fifteen-year project between 1989 and 2004 about the contemporary history of Lebanon, with particular emphasis on the Lebanese wars of 1975 to 1991. Raad’s books include Walkthrough, The Truth Will Be Known When The Last Witness Is Dead, My Neck Is Thinner Than A Hair, Let’s Be Honest The Weather Helped, and Scratching on Things I Could Disavow.
