Review Santa Fe kicked off Thursday, June 2, in the magical town of Santa Fe, New Mexico. This is the 11th annual juried portfolio review produced by Center (formerly known as the Santa Fe Center for Photography). Up to 100 photographers, who have created a significant project or series, have been selected to meet with curators, editors, publishers, gallerists and alternative market professionals.
The three-day event opened with a welcoming reception for both artists and reviewers at the New Mexico Museum of Art, followed by an informal reception at the legendary Photo-eye Gallery. Day 2 opens with the first Portfolio Reviews, followed by a Panel Discussion “Growing Professional Relationships Beyond the Portfolio Review.” In the evening, the “Portfolio Viewing” Friday, June 3, 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Hilton Santa Fe Historic Plaza, gives the public the opportunity to view a broad range of contemporary photography and speak directly to the artists from around the world about their work. Day 3 will be a full day of Portfolio Review sessions and closing reception.
Throughout the event the “Indie PhotoBook Library,” an archive of self-published and indie published photography books, will be exhibiting books from current and past participants of Review Santa Fe.
