The inaugural exhibition of the brand new 110 Galerie, “It is by believing in roses that we make them bloom” from June 3, celebrates the plant and the living. The exhibition, made up of thirty works, brings together the personal work of the visual artist Isabelle Chapuis as well as two series produced in collaboration with the plant visual artist Duy Anh Nhan Duc, seven of which are unpublished.
The theme of this exhibition is inspired by the history of the place: indeed, in 1922, a florist opened its doors at 110 rue Saint Honoré.
“It is by believing in roses that we make them bloom” will be the first presentation of the VIVANT (LIFE) series by Isabelle Chapuis. This series explores the theme of adornment in the most intimate way possible. The adornment evoked by Isabelle Chapuis is intrinsic and cannot be without flesh: it is the singularity with which we come into the world, the one that changes over the years. The photographer celebrates the rich and complex beauty of life.
