To bind once again with his city, to rebuild an identity, in the late 90s, Lionel Briot frequent “The Velodrome”. In contact with sports fans, he turns his back to the game, fascinated by the collective hysteria. He circulates within the stadium walls, takes road trips with fans in France and abroad.
Going unseen by being one of them, he has photographed fans up close and personal, for years now (1996 to 2002). A photographic work in emotion, rage, and personal challenge. Today it has become a testimony.
