Fraction Magazine‘s new issue #73 is now live and features work by Andrew Fedynak, Neal Johnson, Julie Renée Jones and Melissa Stallard. Leo Hsu reviews the book Photoshow and Portland based photographer Nick Shepard responds to last month’s review of The Enclave by David Ondrik.
I am especially excited by this month’s group show, curated by Michele M. Penhall. I think you’re going to love it.
Also, I curated the Photography Now 2015 show for the Center for Photography at Woodstock. The show opens on April 18. I hope you can make it.
Later this month there will be a call for entries for the 7th anniversary group show that I will curate.

Umbra by Julie Renée Jones
As we age our idea of home shifts and changes. Where once we found comfort and familiarity, is replaced by the mythic and foreign environment of a conflicting memory of what our home has become. In the series Umbra I struggle with this notion of the familiar and banal transforming into a world of fantasy and unease. I work with my family members and personal memories to deconstruct what my home was and reconstruct what it has become: a shadow world where the past and present exist in the same space as the real and imagined.
Julie Renée Jones lives and works in Dayton, Ohio.
