I’m a legally blind photographer based in Kentucky.I use a simple point and shoot camera, my 47-inch computer monitor, and sometimes a little guidance from whoever accompanies me on a photo adventure.
Although I love color and do take color photos, I prefer black and white, since I see best in high contrast. Sometimes I’m asked, “How can you take pictures if you’re legally blind?” Well, my camera sees for me. I see the general blurry shape of something, and the camera captures what I can’t see.
Some of my credits include PhotoVoice, Graphis, LiftBump, IJ Review, Zymbol, The Buffalo Almanack, Smart Photography, Orbis, LION (The Lion’s Club) Magazine, Midnight Echo, Oitzarisme Magazine, The Horror Zine, Weird Tales Magazine, and others.
