What is the role of « landscape » in a culture that is so dependent on the virtual representations of the world? How valuable is the landscape in a culture that is obsessed with continually renewing itself?
The desert is the least ephemeral of the scenarios, it is a landscape that seems to be exempt from the passage of time, without seasons, without growth, without deterioration. As if he were self-absorbed, the details do not matter much in the desert, turning landscape into its most sterile and rudimentary form.
These stereoscopic photographs explore the limits of a constantly expanding city in the desert. These limits are never set, so these photographs become instant historical records, visual reminders of their own disappearance, which contrast the timelessness and slow development of that landscape, with immediacy and urban obsolescence.
