Pour sa septième année, le prix Pictet avait choisi le thème de l’espace (Space). Présidé par son membre d’honneur Kofi Annan, le jury a choisi Richard Mosse parmi douze concurrents : Mandy Barker, Saskia Groneberg, Beate Gütschow, Rinko Kawauchi, Benny Lam, Sohei Nishino, Sergey Ponomarev, Thomas Ruff, Munem Wasif, Pavel Wolberg et Michael Wolf.
