“Society’s treatment of plants is a mirror image of itself,” botanist artist Lois Weinberger* liked to say.
His work is an invitation to consider differently those who are called vagabonds or invasives, and who are described as « crazy » or « bad » that is to say without value or presenting a defect.
Denigrated and belittled, these plants are often doomed: uprooting or chemical disappearance.
The Weeds! brings together recent works which, involving photography, venture into the living and symbolic universe of these weed plants. These grow and regrow almost everywhere and at will, in interstices and wastelands, areas which, often neglected by man, become spaces of freedom and creativity.
