De 1981 au début de 1984, j'ai travaillé sur un projet de photographie dans le cadre du projet de New York Chinatown Histoire (NYCHP), aujourd'hui le Musée des Chinois en Amérique. Une génération plus ancienne de Chinatown a été remplacé par un nouvel afflux en expansion rapide de l'immigration. En tant que photographe, mon objectif était de documenter la transformation d'une ancienne communauté et surtout des hommes (en raison des lois d'immigration restrictives, discriminatoires) à une nouvelle génération de jeunes familles.
