Van de Camp & Heesterbeek – ‘Spatio-temporeel’

Preview

Eduard Planting Gallery in Amsterdam presents from 16 March until 26 April 2019 an exhibition of Van de Camp & Heesterbeek. The Dutch photographic art duo shows a selection of intriguing and universal black and white images. The ‘Spatio-temporeel’ series introduces people to a reality with a different notion of beauty, space and time. An important starting point is portrait photography.

Reality doesn’t always present itself the way it really is. Patricia van de Camp and Marc Heesterbeek explore the relativity of reality and of beauty in particular. They investigate the aesthetic principles of symmetry in face and body by subtracting and adding. The technical element of the digitally manipulated and timeless images could not have been realized without their wide knowledge of photography and graphic design.

Patricia van de Camp (1969) studied graphic art and photography at the Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and the Design School Kolding in Denmark. Marc Heesterbeek (1965) studied architecture and urban planning at the Technische Universiteit Eindhoven and space architecture at the SICSA in Houston (USA). In 2018 they decided to become an art duo and combine their skills to make unique photographic works.
