The seventh edition of the Rencontres Photographiques du 10e

Preview

This year, the Rencontres Photographiques du 10 (10th arrondissement in Paris) are being presented to the public for the seventh time. Initiated in 2005 by the Château d’Eau library and the city council of the  District, this biennial event is being organised for the first time by Fetart, an association created in 2005 to promote young photographers and organise many exhibitions including the Circulation(s) festival.

Presenting the work of both amateur and professional photographers, the Rencontres Photographiques du 10e are taking place from October 16th to November 18th 2017 in various locations in this part of the French capital where photography is usually shown: galleries, entertainment venues, and libraries, but also bookshops, shops and café-restaurants. For little over a month contemporary photography is being celebrated and shown throughout the Paris’s tenth district.

This event is a great time in the cultural life of the neighbourhood, bringing with it high expectations of an artistic renewal, both creative and diverse, while being accessible to the greatest number. Marion Hislen, Director of Fetart and principal curator of the Circulation(s) festival, is also artistic director of this new edition of the Rencontres Photographiques du 10e.

Today The Eye of Photography is bringing you a special edition devoted to the Rencontres Photographiques du 10e with a selection of the best exhibitions.
