The PhotoMed Festival, devoted to Mediterranean photography, opened on May 24th. For this second edition, festival venues featuring 15 photographic exhibitions, are located in Sanary-sur-Mer, Bandol, isle of Bendor and Toulon. After last year with Martin Parr, this year’s guest of honor is Massimo Vitali, giving him the opportunity to show works never before seen in France. His series evokes his favorite themes: the Mediterranean coast, its seaside activities and its beaches. Vitali’s vision remains that of a Mediterranean rooted in a culture that has, since the Renaissance, cultivated beauty and sensitivity.
