How do you reinvent yourself after a successful career? Having been a tenured professor of literature and linguistics at USC for several decades, I have spent the last several years expanding my artistic horizons as a photographer. Previously, my interest had been in supporting my textbook publications with some of my own photojournalistic contributions, but now my needs were moving in directions that go beyond the literal. I had previously taken workshops with some very fine photographers, some very well known. Some were photojournalists, others were known in fine art photography. And I really felt the urge to go further into the realm of fine art at this time.
