On The Hunt At the Annual Great American Outdoor Show. These are the Americans you read about. Proud gun owners, Patriots all, defending the rights of all Americans, ready to join the fight against socialist oppression. They are the Americans that live between the margins- of the East Coast elites and West Coast snobs. Guns are the embodiment of Freedom, and as Charleton Heston, then leader of the NRA first said to the faithful about an Al Gore presidency; “I’ll give you my gun when you pry it from my cold, dead hands”. And some, become the infamous, whose misguided zealotry knows no bounds. Anyone can get a gun in America. Anyone. My good friends, gun lovers and hunters all, invited me along to the annual Great Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, PA. The spot of America’s first nuclear mini-meltdown at Three Mile Island and home to many Amish and Mennonite families. They gave me a camouflage shirt and hat and I became them. My key to the kingdom, an NRA supplied Media pass, and 3 full hours and I had my trophies.
