Lem – Ghost towns of the West

Last may, I went to discover some ghost towns in California and Nevada, with an old Rolleilfex T and some black and white film.
Ghost towns fascinate. Is it because time has been frozen, often suddenly and in difficult circumstances? Is it because one’s alone there, with the impression that anything can happen? Or is it because it gives us an idea of what life was like for people who left everything in the hope of a new life?
In the west, the ghost town was often a boom town, whose birth is linked to the discovery of ore, gold or silver. These places, abandoned long ago or not, tell human stories, joys and sorrows that haunt forever these desert lands but never completely deserted…
