From 1961 – 2006 Jürgen Schadeberg photographed bars, night clubs, restaurants, seaside scenes, pubs, parties in the UK, Germany, France, Spain, New York and South Africa. From the Gorbals in Glasgow to a picnic at Eton College Jurgen documented a wide social range of drinking haunts in Europa, Africa and the States.
These images capture the spirit of pre covid times and is a deliberate and welcome distraction from today’s chaotic world.
