I took you already to the most beautiful exhibitions of the 14th edition of “Fotographia Europea”, a photographic event held every year in the spring, since 2006, in the city of Reggio Emilia.
The OFF circuit of this festival, intimately linked to the basic organization, offered us a very wide range of exhibitions (more than 270 exhibitions).
Do not be surprised to meet at the turn of a palace or inside a shop Antoine d’Agata, Martin Parr or Michael Kenna. I made the choice of three exhibitions that illustrate this great diversity.
• Michael KENNA, photographer of landscapes and faded light, presented in the Galleria 13, his series “Rafu” original works around the body, with a subtle mix (everything is always subtle with Michael Kenna), of nudes very graphics and nudes of atmosphere. This work that we could certainly find in other places perfectly evoke the Japanese symbiosis and contradiction. The delicate assembly of the graphic rigors of morality with the sweetness of the foggy blurs of nature. The work of this creator refines his message and confirms his signature.
• Maria Francesca ARTONI, is the archetype of the creative photographer, cut in two.She works in a medical environment and does a permanent research through the lens of the camera. She combined two very different exhibitions in this Off circuit. I chose to present her series that combines light and flowers, … through water … frozen. This work represents the beginning of a personal creative output, compared to the teachings she has received through many masters ….
• Walter BORGHISANI is interested in photography as a reflection, even as an introspection of the social fabric that surrounds him. As part of a collective approach, “UNDER-WEAR” brings together a small group of people who agreed to answer personal questions at the same time they were in front of the lens. Photography becomes a claim to the possibility of existing, for once, publicly, while maintaining a personal intimacy.
I hope that Fotografia Europea, even and especially in its Off circuit very well organised, will offer us this superb mixture of works which delight a very numerous public.
