The Cité internationale des arts and the French Ministry of Culture (DGCA/DAV/Department of Photography) are launching the first edition of Elles & Cité, a research residency program for mid-career women photographers.
This residency program is aimed at women photographers on the French scene with at least ten years’ professional experience. Candidates must live outside the Ile-de-France region and not be represented by a gallery in Paris. Elles & Cité offers a new professional springboard designed to offset the effects of the mid-career slump. By supporting the projects of prizewinners through a privileged time and place of work, this residency scheme aims to promote their visibility and the structuring of their professional network.
