FESTIVAL PHOTO MARSEILLE #8

Preview

The festival La Photographie Marseille is the first event entirely dedicated to contemporary photography in Marseille. Since its creation in 2011, the festival’s main focus has been the discovery of young talents with the Maison Blanche award in particular, and the highlighting of recognized photographers of the contemporary scene (Martin Parr, Bernd and Hilla Becher, Robert Frank, Stephen Shore ) with a local orientation since 2015 (Franck Pourcel, André Mérian, Geoffroy Mathieu). The event thus makes the link between the history of photography and its current practices through exhibitions and educational activities with the public (media visits, workshops, conferences).

The Marseille Photography is organized by LES ASSO (S).

Institutional partners: City of Marseille, Departmental Council of Bouches-du-Rhône, Metropolis Aix-Marseille Provence.
