Eugène Atget, the aesthetic conception

This work is the continuation of my personal research in the field of quotationism.
I discovered Euène Atget’s Photography by chance, I did not know this great French author. Some of his photographs had aroused my interest, I was fascinated by them. They were photographs of architecture taken in the streets of Paris almost entirely without the presence of humans, photographing neighbourhoods that would shortly afterwards disappear forever with the urban reform decided by Napoleon III with the help of Georges Eugène Hausmann. With his particular photographic research, Eugène Atget unwittingly bequeathed us “maps” of a city that was about to radically change its appearance. I started to study this extraordinary master by searching for information on the Internet and books in the library, and these eight photographs I am proposing are part of a project dedicated to Atget’s poetics. This project does NOT want to be an imitation of his Photography, but only a personal and free interpretation of contemporary Paris, imagining the artistic thought of Eugène Atget who with his poetics invited us to discover the aesthetic conception present in everything he portrayed.
