For the 14th edition of the Prix HSBC pour la Photographie, the photographers Grégoire Alexandre and Matthieu Gafsou were awarded the prize. In 2009, Olivier Saillard, head of exhibition programming at the Musée des Arts décoratifs in Paris, was named the artistic advisor. Today, we spoke with Matthieu Gafsou, a young Swiss photographer just out of school when he was awarded the Prix HSBC, about his experience with the prize and what he’s been up to since.
