What a pleasure it is to put together L’Oeil de la Photographie on a daily basis. Perhaps the most special moment is selecting the weekend portfolios. We receive 20 to 30 per days and publish a dozen or so every weekend. It’s not enough, but time is short, and we cannot hope to answer every one. That said, the portfolios are unique. They are an example of absolute freedom, submitted from 160 countries for the time being. There’s no barriers to race, age, profession, nationality or gender. And the result is there: extraordinary creativity that conveys how photography has changed. It has become communication itself.
