Jean-Christophe Huet, The Aboakyer festival

Preview
The Aboakyer Festival is held annually in May in the small town of Winneba, Ghana. He contrasts two clans, symbolized by their colors: red / orange and blue / white. Body painting and cross-dressing are widely used. One can see in this custom and parades the origin of carnivals of the Caribbean, this coast of Ghana having served for centuries as starting point of the slave trade.
This series will be presented in the autumn at the gallery Tropismes de St Martin.
