Death of Adrian Flowers

Preview

Adrian Flowers, whose masterful advertising campaigns and editorial portraits helped define the spirit of the Swinging 60s, died last week in Agen, France. Mr. Flowers, born in 1926 in Portsmouth, England, was a huge name in the London photography scene back in the 1950s through the early 90’s with his iconic images of Peter Sellers, Paul and Linda McCartney, Sir Alec Guinness, Michael Caine, Vanessa Redgrave, Twiggy and countless other luminaries. Mr. Flowers was an exceptional person and photographer whose place in the history of photography also includes his Grandfather, William West, a well known photographer during his time, and the son of his maternal Great-Grandfather, who started the photo’ graphic firm, G. West & Sons in the 1880s.
