Glossy, quickening, emotional.  Up-to-the-minute news and events.  This is the mobile world we carry everywhere; now a lifeline to our addiction digested hundreds of times a day. Two centuries ago, Emerson and Thoreau believed that technological advancement caused detachment from the natural world. Today, mobile technology is disengaging us from the physical world altogether, in exchange for a steady diet of empty calories. What of the social fabric and connection, the feeling of spirit we miss as we no longer fully see, smell, hear, feel the world in front of us?  At first glance, each photograph is utterly plain but upon further inspection, subtle details and delicate patterns emerge, rewarding patience and idleness while simplicity and order invite reflection and stillness.
