Ren Hang

Preview

The revelation of early 2014, Ren Hang is a provocative young  Chinese “photographer and poet”  who explores the possibilities of the body with an uninhibited sexuality and a playful, stylized shamelessness.

Condemned by the Chinese intelligentsia, his work has garnered international acclaim at exhibitions around the world. In 2010, he received the Terna Prize for Contemporary Art. After appearing at the NUE galerie in Pantin and the Magasin de Jouets at the Rencontres d’Arles, Hang’s first solo show in Paris, Anatomy of the Image, featured new work and selections from his book The Brightest Light Runs Too Fast (Bessard). Born in Changchun in the Chinese province of Jiliin in 1987, Hang is based in Beijing.
